I was named Ross Corder after a cousin of my mother's called Ross Wood, and after my grandfather Thomas Corder Catchpool - the Corder being his mother's maiden name.
From the family of Ross Wood I have learned that his was also a family name - Roskruge - with some interesting ancestors - two navel officers below, one of whom died at the battle of Trafalger, being hit in the head with double shot from a cannon - two half cannon balls connected by chain or rod, designed to destroy rigging.
