It is hardwired in that we see faces :-) a most fundamental symbol, the first recognisable drawings that children make. I play a game with my students - they go out and about finding faces - it becomes addictive once you start... It must reflect the way in which the brain 'sees'.
It amazes me how we see what we think we see, or see what we expect to see, and see serendipitous connections when they are 'primed' in our minds.
This gallery is an example of finding connections though both images and ideas, starting with three of these 'face' images. The gallery is both a stream of randomness and a lose web of connections.
Most of these images have been collected over the past year. I might have chosen other themes, but I chose the face as this seems to be prevalent in the work that has been coming from my students this year.
