These are examples of the painting that I was doing for
my degree - hardly relevant perhaps as this was over a
quarter of a century ago - I include it as an indication
of where I have come from - and for the fun of playing
about with the gallery creating software 'Pulpmotion'
created by Aqufadas. It has been an interesting exercise
looking back over the artistic route that I have taken
over the intervening time. I have not painted since,
hardly. I spent two years at Uwe doing a post graduate
course in printmaking, but otherwise most of my creative
energy has been tipped either into teaching, or into the
house in which I live. Thinking on that the house that I
lived in in Sunderland was very important, and the
inspratioin for the paintings. I moved into an empty
house over the Christams of my first year. With my
parents help I bought the house (£2500) rather than pay
rent. The house became both the muse and the subject, as
I painted tromp l'oeil on the walls, created furniture
from found wood, build myself a workshop, and painted
these large canvases - many of which were 6'x8'
