This is the abstract for the presentation that I will be giving in San Francisco in July. The wording oft-times copied and pasted for different purposes grows slowly and organically with each application. I have to tailor it a bit depending on the audience, intention and sponsor, I have one talk that features Adobe software, one for Apple. and one that combines both. I have a plan to create a Flash presentation of the examplar work that I produce that can be up and running on my website as a resource to support the talks that I do. This has been a primary motivation for my exploration of Flash this term, and a project that I plan to have ready for the Adobe conference in July.

In terms of assignment 5, this conference will be one of my main opportunities to network with other practitioners working in my field, especially as I have this opportunity to show the work that I am doing.

Digital Art - Ross Wallis, Head of Art, Sidcot School

Sidcot is a small independent Quaker school in Somerset, part day, part boarding, part international, with students ranging in age from 3 to 18.

In this context, and with a background in fine art and printmaking,  I have pursued an interest in digital technology since the late 80's, consistently exploring, exploiting and integrating the technology into my teaching, department and school.

My students are my constant inspiration and motivation, I am regularly amazed and excited by the creative work that they produce, and keen to share this.

With the creativity of my students, and with the ever expanding network of other teachers working in this field, I have been building up a repertoire of ideas and techniques, from simple cut and paste in Photoshop, to sophisticated use of Flash.
I have been particularly interested over the last few years in experimenting with group work, with the potential of the internet for sharing, and with the use of web technology for publishing and assessing work.

This session is an opportunity for me to show some of the work that my students have produced, in hope that their creativity will inspire and amaze you as much as it does me.
